Being a relatively simple game and simple design, it is something anyone from ages 6 to 100 can enjoy. Despite that,no one has ever changed the real design of chess out of its simplistic background. Checkmate Chess Company specializes in redesigning the games we all love into something new. Instead of simple, this packaging is big,bold, and different Each part is representative of a certain interior design aesthetic, but catered to be displayed on a coffee table. Not only are the chess boards themselves redesigned with texture and color but the box you receive your game will be easily displayed.
WHAT IS CHECKMATE CHESS?
Behind each design is careful consideration of color schemes, textures, and the entire experience. Each pattern is derived from many different aspects of the interior theme, but is also adhered to still easily play the game without over packaging. The type used is also modern yet simple, being an incredibly old game with lots of history we thought the expected boxes needed an upgrade. The chess pieces silhouettes automatically inform the user of what game this is as well as the large logo on the front. On the back includes simple information about the game inside, with real wooden carved pieces and a nine inch board. Most importantly is the laser cut acrylic sleeves that surround each box. These keep the game itself strong & long lasting, while also adding another experience. The acrylic diecut outlines each chess piece silhouette and logo. Being on three sides of the box it creates an easy way to display on a shelf, coffee table, mantle, and more. Take this game on the go, as an art statement, or as your favorite hobby.
